The Challenge
Working with primary tissues requires extra effort to obtain meaningful results. Primary tissue is heterogeneous which makes interpretation of results more complex and specialized. Sorting cells into discrete populations for analysis can be very advantageous, but existing cell sorting systems require large numbers of cells and do not sort small volumes well. In addition, these systems are expensive, costly to operate, and are most productive when operated by skilled, dedicated operator.
