Chief Scientific Officer
The Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) will review, improve and execute the scientific strategy for the Company. The successful candidate will provide scientific guidance, support clinical laboratory activities, and grow Celula’s scientific partnerships.
The successful candidate will:
- Work with an interdisciplinary team of senior scientists to identify and advance high-value diagnostic assays from the pre-clinical stage through development and into early clinical trials.
- Enhance working relationships among management, scientists, project teams and staff.
- Serve as the primary liaison with consultants, investigators and clinical operations in the initiation and conduct of clinical trials.
The candidate must be a highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills capable of presenting and collaborating with all levels of the company, across functional groups and to external parties.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in life sciences and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a biotechnology/diagnostic environment required.
- Proven success as a scientific leader, effectively managing cross functional teams.
- Expert in DNA related biochemistry assay development.
- Expertise in bioinformatics based data analysis and complex system integration that consists of novel biology, biochemistry and micro-fluidics engineering.
- Expertise in clinical diagnostic laboratory operation.
- Ideally this candidate will also have experience working with the identification and/or isolation of rare cell populations, ideally from blood.
